Good News In Peanut Butter
More and more people are eating peanut butter for health but not all know the differences between traditional and "natural" peanut butter.

Both types must contain a minimum of 90 percent peanuts, with no artificial sweeteners, colors or preservatives. Some blends add a small amount of sugar or salt but nutrient content is very similar.

To stabilize traditional peanut butter and eliminate separation, manufacturers may add less than 1 or 2 percent partially or fully hydrogenated oil.

In a study at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Dr. Tim Sanders said, "Consumption of peanut butter should not be of concern to individuals monitoring trans fat intake since levels were barely detectable."

So name your favorite-creamy, crunchy, "natural" or traditional-and choose for taste. Numerous studies say all are great choices to eat daily for health.
